Links & More Links!

Hello HEALers!

How are you? I hope you all had a wonderful New Year. I’m very excited about your upcoming course and comps this summer! Time has really flown by over the last year and a half. We've come so far in this journey and I anticipate that for many of you the completion of this degree is only the beginning of further transformation. Let's embrace the change and move forward!

Over the last week, I’ve come across a few things I would like to share so grab a java and let’s go!

Presentations: I was recently introduced to the very dynamic presentation tool Prezi. If you’ve used PowerPoint or Keynote for presentations in the past, I think you’ll appreciate Prezi’s animated 3D ride through your content. They also have templates for resumes. Check this one out! I’ve personally toyed with it a bit myself and you can peruse my latest creation on learning space here. If you do decide to use Prezi, please read all the caveats first.

Learni.st: Have you heard of it? It’s an online community where people can teach through curation. The site hosts a variety of topics from Education to Design. Here’s one learning board on using Learnist in the high school classroom. But frankly, I'm a bit partial to this board on the ultimate PB & J sandwich.

Vocabulary.com boasts that it is the fastest dictionary online and I think they’re right. So if speed is what you need, check them out!  Two additional features of the site that may interest you are the vocabulary lists and the vocabulary challenge.

Finally, I’ll be in for a visit during your Saturday, January 19th class. I look forward to seeing your shining faces. Now let’s get to work!

Sincerely,

Jacqueline
