The Joy of APA & Stats

Good Evening!

How are you? I hope well. Thank you all for bearing with me during my APA presentation last weekend. I’ve been updating my references to reflect the current APA 6th edition and a few things came up during the course of my revisions. Although it isn’t mandatory, APA does recommend listing the page number when paraphrasing. Also, remember that the “References” heading is not bolded. In addition, I've updated our HEAL blog to include the APA resources that I had included on the last slide of the presentation. Rosie's suggested resource, SFU AskAway, is also posted on the HEAL blog.

One final note! If you have 60 minutes to spare, I’d like to encourage you all to please watch this:

The Joy of Stats

Hosted by Dr. Hans Rosling
The Knowledge Network

You’ll have a whole new appreciation for quantitative data and maybe gather some ideas about how to best present your own research.

Dr. Rosling has also been featured on TED:

New insights on poverty
No more boring data
Let my dataset change your mindset

The magic washing machine

Have a wonderful night!

Sincerely,

Jacqueline
