KEYNOTE: Dr. Deborah Orr (York University) is a philosopher and teaches in Humanities. Her research area includes embodiment, ethics, gender, holistic teaching and learning. She also teaches Iyengar yoga method and meditation.

PANELISTS: Dr. Daniel Vokey (UBC) is a philosopher of education, and teaches professional ethics. He teaches meditation in the tradition of Shambhala Buddhism. Dr. Vicki Kelly (SFU) teaches and researches in holistic, aesthetic, ecological and indigenous education. Dr. Stephen Smith, Director of Professional Development Program in Education at SFU, is a phenomenologist interested in the somatics of teacher education, and teaches in health and physical education. Dr. Celeste Snowber (SFU) is a dancer and poet, and writes, performs, and teaches in the field of arts-based research. Dr. Avraham Cohen (City University of Seattle, Vancouver Site) is a Professor in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

REFLECTING TEAM: Dr. Kumari Beck (SFU) researches and teaches in internationalization of education, and writes about globalization, intercultural education, ethics of care, and social justice. Dr. Elizabeth Marshall’s (SFU) research interests include feminist and literary theories and popular culture. She is currently examining issues of embodiment in the presentation of girls and young adults. Dr. Thomas Culham (UBC) has been incorporating contemplative practices into his teaching in Business ethics. Saskia Tait (SFU, Ph.D. Candidate) is a yoga scholar and teacher. Sean Park (SFU, Ph.D. Candidate) is an expressive arts educator, martial artist, and a mindfulness-oriented counselling student.

REGISTRATION ONE: the WHOLE SYMPOSIUM, from 3 pm to 6:30 pm. 
REGISTRATION TWO: just the FACULTY LECTURE (Prof. Orr's Keynote), from 5 pm to 6:30 pm.
