Hope all is well and that you are enjoying your final class with Lynn. Over the past few weeks I have forwarded links and resources on conducting qualitative research. This latest post brings the content of these emails together. In addition, I also want to highlight what you shared this month:
"By means of inquiry we are opened up to what is questionable in the world, to what normally goes unnoticed." ~ Karen Meyers
Love the postcards! If you are comfortable with posting them on your blog, please do so over this short break. These significant pieces of work lose their place in the backlog of emails we receive.

My suggestions: Limit your questions to those that tap into your interviewee's expertise and address the issue you are investigating. Also, set a time limit of 30-45 minutes per interview. To avoid rushing through your questions, test run your questionnaire on a friend or family member. Start your interview off with a casual greeting and introduction. Your first questions for your participant should be fairly easy for them to respond to such as, "What's your position with the program? How did you get involved in program coordination?" The questions requiring deeper thought should be asked towards the middle and end of your interview...once you have established a rapport with your participant.
