Sunday Morning Post

How are you?  First, I want to say that it was a pleasure visiting with you at the Summer Institute yesterday.  I hope that you all enjoyed yourself and learned something new!

Wow!  Summer has just flown by.  Your recent trip to Bowen Island looked amazing as did the project you submitted culminating the experience.  I’ve kept my eyes posted closely to your blogs and here is what you all have had to share about the current events:

Dr. Peggy Patterson’s keynote address yesterday at the SFU Summer Institute generated quite a few responses on learning in the 21st century.  Read reflections from Liesl, Mary, and Neda.

On the topic of learning and pedagogy, here are a few additional resources that may interest you:

What's your personal teaching philosophy?

An encouraging journal: Reclaiming Children and Youth

Mind Mapping & Nursing Education

Somewhere Under the Constructivist Umbrella: A Facilitator's Philosophy

Neuroscience & The Classroom: Making Connections

What the FRP anyway?!

The relationship between wellness, nature, and education has also been explored over the past few weeks.  Here is what you had to share:

Describing the five senses alternatively.

How Nature Can Benefit....

How do we, as a healthcare community, value reflection as a tool in assessing evidence based practice ?

Would you pay $17.69 for a jar of peanut butter?

Thai health initiatives focus on the smoking kid.

I made it myself!

Hope you all have a wonderful day.  I'll see you all next weekend in class!

Cheers,
